NO HANDS, NO FEET ON EARTH BUT YOURS. YOURS ARE THE EYES WITH WHICH HE LOOKS WITH COMPASSION ON THIS WORLD, YOUR FEET WITH WHICH HE WALKS TO DO GOOD, YOURS ARE THE HANDS WITH WHICH HE BLESSES ALL THE WORLD.

While some objects, such as statues, relics and crosses, are to be venerated as symbols of Christ, these objects cannot serve as the body of Christ in today’s world; but people can. St. Teresa of Avila’s quote is meant to show us that we are His eyes, hands and feet, and now we are to see, go and act on His behalf.

As a Catholic community, we embrace the call to action to make God present in all our lives. For many of us, our commitment to the ABCD allows us to be part of that active witness of our faith. Through the ABCD, we serve our community by giving hope to the hopeless, strengthening the faith of the discouraged and providing charity to those most in need.

Once a year, we are called to commit ourselves to the ongoing work of the Archdiocese of Miami through the ABCD. Next week, every parish in the Archdiocese will unite to be One in Faith, One in Hope and One in Charity so that together, through the ABCD, we can be the eyes, hands and feet of Jesus.
