Fr. John Aduseh Poku

Father John Aduseh Poku comes to us from Ghana, He entered the minor seminary at the age of 14, and after obtaining degrees in Theology and Philosophy as well as Geography, Economics, and Government, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Konongo-Mampong, Ghana.

His first assignment was as associate Cathedral administrator in St. Paul’s Cathedral, Mampong Ash, Ghana, and was also member of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission and chairman of the diocesan Justice and Peace Commission.

Fr. John was sent to the United States for further studies in the early 2000’s, obtaining a Master’s degree in Systematic Theology from St. John’s University, New York, and a Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling from Hebrew Union University, New York. While in the States, he did pastoral work in various parishes in the New York area.

His summer travels have taken him to Malta, Scotland and other places in the U.K., where he was also engaged in pastoral work.

Fr. John enjoys volleyball, soccer, traveling and music. He is a mental health counselor and likes doing parish work and community building.
