Fr. Luis Largaespada

Fr. Luis Largaespada, was born in Managua, Nicaragua.

He entered St. John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, and concluded his theological studies at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, with Master’s Degree in Divinity and a Master’s Degree in Arts in 2009.

In addition to various pastoral assignments in the Miami area he also spent summers working in other ministries in Virginia and New York, as well as at the Palm Beach Diocese’s School of Evangelization, and at Radio Paz, the archdiocesan station in Miami.

Fr. Luis was ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop John C. Favalora on May 9, 2009.  His first assignment as a newly ordained priest was Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Kendall.

He also served at the Church of the Epiphany until Archbishop Thomas Wenski appointed him as parochial administrator to St. Hugh in Coconut Grove in 2016. He was officially installed as pastor in 2017.

He is a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and a Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.  He serves as a member of the Archdiocesan Presbyteral Council and the Vocations board. Fr. Luis has a great devotion to the saints and loves their hagiographies.  He is the custodian of more than 600 relics of the saints.
