Trinity Sunday (Cycle A)

GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON (JN 3:16A).

The one God who is a communion of Persons, a communion of Love, has so loved us that He has sent His Son to be our Savior. This Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, having taken our human nature and endured passion and death, is now risen and seated at the Father’s right hand. Our lowly nature is thus inserted in the very heart, the very intimacy of the Trinity.

This great love of God for His creatures is at the core of the incomprehensible mystery of the Trinity. The Father sends His Son so that we “may not perish but have eternal life” (Jn 3:16b). The Son in turn sends us another Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to guide us to all truth (cf Jn 16:13).

In the name of this Blessed Trinity we were baptized. Our faith is based in this awesome mystery which we proclaim every time we sign ourselves with the Cross. Let us do so reverently, with love, that we may have eternal life. God bless you.
