Honor Roll Criteria

Principal’s Honor Roll List:

All subject areas must obtain an average of 100% – 96% – Religion, Reading/Literature, English Grammar, Writing/ Composition, Spelling/Vocabulary, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Music, PE, Art, and Foreign Language All Subject Skills must have (+). No (-) in Active Learner Traits (ALT).

*No Student will be on Honor roll if the student has any discipline issues including warning for that quarter.

First Honor:

Must obtain an average of 100% – 93% in the following subject areas: Religion, Reading/Literature, English Grammar, Writing/Composition, Spelling/Vocabulary, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science.
All Subject Skills must have (+). No (-) in any Active Learner Traits (ALT).

*No Student will be on Honor roll if the student has any discipline issues including warning for that quarter.

Second Honors:

All subject areas need to average between 100% – 90%

All Subject Skills must have (+). No (-) in any Active Learner Traits (ALT).

Each subject area will receive a % grade. Standards under each subject will receive (+) for strength, (-) for an area of weakness, (S) for satisfactory performance, or (NA) for Not Assessed at this time. An “M” next to a grade denotes a modified curriculum. Active Learner Traits are identified as a (+) for strength, a (-) for and area of weakness, no mark indicates satisfactory performance.

Active Learner Traits

The following are the Active Learner Traits that are evaluated in the Report Card. As you will notice, these are reflected in the classroom rules to help your child succeed in school:

Responsibility

  • Punctual, groomed, and properly attired.
  • Is trustworthy and accepts responsibility for mistakes/misbehaviors.
  • Finishes assignments in a timely manner.
  • Prepared for class (has books, assignments, and/or supplies) when class begins.

Organization

  • Keeps desk, seat-sack, book-bag and other materials, organized.
  • Keeps books, notebooks, handouts and other supplies in good order and condition.

Independent Work

  • Pays attention to work and follows oral and written instructions well.
  • Uses class time efficiently.
  • Fulfill assignments.

Collaboration

  • Courteous, generous, cooperative, and constructive even when disagreements arise.
  • Cares about the welfare of others.
  • Keeps self/group focused on task and engaged in learning.

Initiative

  • Initiates/ participates in discussions and activities.
  • Takes pride in doing quality work.
  • Motivated to learn.

Self-Regulation

  • Shows self-control, even if excited or upset.
  • Follows school and classroom rules.
  • Displays servant leadership qualities and Gospel values.
  • Treats adults and peers with respect and dignity.
  • Makes appropriate use of technology.
