iRead Program

Success in school and beyond is dependent on mastery of foundational reading skills at a young age. St. Hugh Catholic School has purchased a new comprehensive system that provides explicit, systematic instruction and personalized learning in reading. This program is called iRead.

iRead provides unparalleled support with powerful data, reporting, and instructional resources to maximize instructional time and accelerate achievement. This program includes more rigor, more language, and more connected text than other digital programs on the market. The iRead program will be used daily by the kindergarten, first, and second grade teachers for all students. The Reading Raiders program and Mrs. Mendiola’s reading class will also use this program to remediate, identify areas of need, and enhance reading. The program focuses on phonological awareness, phonics and word recognition, spelling and encoding, fluency, vocabulary, and language development.

In order to fully implement this program, we also had to purchase ten new iPads.
