Raiders News Newscast Program

Course Description:

In this hands-on, engaging program, middle school students will develop the skills necessary to become proficient newscasters, using both their creativity and critical thinking. Over the course of the year, students will engage in script writing, interviews, and anchoring, while collaborating with their peers to produce the weekly “Raiders News” program. Each weekly episode will feature segments such as the weekly Catholic message, the principal’s message, school accomplishments, sports, and current events that are relevant to the school community.

Students will be expected to work as a team to produce each episode, practicing their technical skills and developing leadership abilities. This collaborative process mirrors real-life newscasting and emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and a dedication to excellence. The program has been a staple of our school for the past 12 years and continues to provide a valuable platform for student involvement and expression.
