A Foundation in Catholic Values, Academic Rigor, Athletics, and Creative Arts
At our school, we provide a challenging academic experience deeply rooted in Catholic values. Our curriculum not only prepares students for high school and beyond, but also fosters academic excellence, creativity, and a strong sense of service to others. Students are immersed in a well-rounded program that integrates faith formation, rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and dynamic fine arts—empowered by state-of-the-art technology. This approach aims to develop the whole student spiritually, intellectually, and socially.
Core Subjects:
Religion, Language Arts, Literature, Math, Science, and Social Studies
Our middle school curriculum is built around six core subjects: Religion, Language Arts, Literature, Math, Science, and Social Studies. These subjects are taught with a focus on deep intellectual engagement, faith development, and the integration of modern technology to enhance learning.
Religion Program: Rooted in Faith, Service, and Catholic Identity
Faith is the cornerstone of our curriculum. In the Religion program, students engage in an in-depth study of Catholic doctrine, spiritual practices, and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Through the lens of the Catholic faith, students examine key topics such as ecclesiology (the study of the Church), the history of Catholicism, and the sacrament of Confirmation. Students not only learn about the faith but also live it, with hands-on participation in service projects, religious retreats, and liturgical celebrations like the Christmas Nativity, Stations of the Cross, and May Crowning. This fosters an understanding of Catholic social teaching and encourages students to live their faith through acts of kindness and charity, making a tangible difference in their communities.
Language Arts and Literature: Developing Critical Thinkers and Effective Communicators
Our Language Arts program is designed to cultivate strong communication skills and encourage a deep understanding of literature. Students engage with a rich and varied curriculum that includes grammar, writing, reading comprehension, and vocabulary development. In addition to these foundational skills, students participate in novel studies that offer opportunities to explore complex themes through both classic and contemporary literature. For example, students might read works like To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, each of which invites reflection on moral choices, justice, and the human experience. Through literary analysis, students explore plot structure, character development, symbolism, and themes, while building critical thinking and writing skills. Oral presentations, speeches, and debates allow students to practice clear communication and strengthen their speaking abilities.
Mathematics: Building Strong Foundations for Future Success
The math curriculum in grades six through eight ensures that students build a comprehensive understanding of key concepts. Starting with foundational arithmetic and moving through pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry, students develop both mathematical fluency and problem-solving abilities. Our Dual Enrollment Algebra I Honors course, available for qualifying eighth graders, challenges students with advanced topics like linear equations, graphing, and polynomials. This prepares students for high school-level mathematics and beyond. Throughout the program, the 1:1 iPad initiative enhances learning, providing interactive tools to support mathematical exploration and practice.
Science: An Inquiry-Based Approach to Exploration
In science, our inquiry-based curriculum promotes curiosity and a passion for discovery. Covering subjects like physical science, life science, and earth science, students develop their investigative skills through hands-on experiments and academic competitions. The STREAM fairs and annual Science competitions including FUTURE CITY, provide a platform for students to present their projects and discoveries, further honing their research, presentation, and critical thinking skills. The integration of technology aids in the investigation of scientific concepts and the development of practical problem-solving abilities.
Social Studies: Understanding History and Our Role in the World
In Social Studies, students explore American and world history, geography, and Civics and government through an engaging and comprehensive approach. By using iPads and other digital resources, students can access diverse historical texts and analyze primary sources. In addition to annual History and Geography Fairs, students engage in projects such as historical reenactments, debates, studies in current events, and community service initiatives that allow them to actively connect with the material and understand their role in shaping the future.
Special Subjects: Cultivating Creativity, Physical Health, and Technological Skills
Beyond the core subjects, students participate in various special subjects that nurture creativity, physical health, and technological fluency. Art, Spanish, Music, Electives, and Physical Education allow students to explore their talents and interests, while STREAM/Computer Technology classes build essential skills for the digital age. Regular integration of these subjects across the curriculum fosters holistic development and enhances learning in all areas.

Regular feedback helps students grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Our commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment helps each student reach their full potential.
Through a curriculum rich in Catholic values, academic rigor, and opportunities for personal growth, our middle school program prepares students not only for academic success but also to become compassionate, responsible, and faith-filled leaders in the world.
