Dear St. Hugh Community,

It is a privilege to have been asked by Father Federico to serve as the Interim Principal for St. Hugh Catholic School. I have had the honor of working at this wonderful school for the past 28 years, and during this time, I have established strong relationships with the community. I will continue to dedicate my time, knowledge, and experience to the faculty, students, and families of our school. In this new position, my love and devotion to Catholic Education will be evident in all that we do as a school community. My vision is to enhance the curriculum by providing the students with the use of state-of-the-art technology, implementation of challenging classes, support our strong faculty through professional development, and to promote the spiritual growth of our students.

During the month of January, we celebrate and acknowledge Catholic Schools during National Catholic Schools Week.  The theme this year is Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.

These elements of Catholic Education are always present in our school. However, during Catholic Schools Week, we will highlight the theme of Faith, Knowledge, and Service with educational and spiritual experiences.

Knowledge: through academic instruction and presentations from parents about their career choices

Service: through community service activities that help those less fortunate

Faith: through the daily teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ and by providing retreats, para liturgy services, and school masses

I look forward to continuing the tradition of educating our students with spiritual growth and academic excellence at St. Hugh Catholic School.

Mrs. Fernandez, Ed.S.
